I Miss My Mom

Today is my third Mother's Day without my mom. It still hurts, and I still cried. Going to church on Mother's Day is both the worst and the best. It's the worst because I always cry. It's the best because I'm also always comforted by God's words and that my mom's in heaven and I'll see her again. I actually made a layout about my mom today, but it's for next week's Digi Dares, so I can't show you just yet. Here is the layout I made last year on Mother's Day. I've had a revelation about my Project 365 weekly pages. I've decided to "free myself" from the tyranny of sticking with one kit or one type of layouts for the whole year. I've freed myself to just go with what inspires me. My only criteria is that the left and right pages sorta match (since they go into a book), so I do them two weeks at a time. I feel so free now that I've decided it's okay to do whatever I want with them! Tonight Sally & Brian had us over at their place for dinner. Sally cooked salmon, asparagus, enchiladas (not pictured), and we had fresh mangoes with mango sorbet on a little brownie for dessert (also not pictured). It was so delicious, and so fun to hang out with them. I was sad to leave because I have to work a little bit tonight to get ready for a work meeting tomorrow morning.

  1. Christine, I am glad you are able to find comfort in God's Word and that you have the hope of seeing her again to look forward too, sometimes when we're sad, it's the only place we have to turn and He never fails us.

Your dinner looks fab! We didn't actually do dinner here today because 4 out of 5 of us are flu-ish and the 5th is just disobedient and he didn't want to wash the pan so he could make clam chowder (he wanted to make the chowder...if someone else would wash the pan...oy).

  2. I'm so sorry about your mum, Christine, I can't even start to imagine how it must feel. Although I had a very nice weekend with my closest family, the weekend also brougth the loss of my fathers and uncles aunt. It once again reminded me to treasure the happy times we have with those we love.

You seems to have had a nice dinner with your friends. Salomon is so tasty, and this looks delicious!

  4. Your LO is great!! Sorry to hear you had a hard day.. Hey decideing to do what you want with the p365 is awesome. Me, right now I like sticking to the kit and using it over and over. Less choices for me.. Then I get something made lol. If it was on paper thats a different story. Have a Lovely Week ;-)

  7. Christine, thanks for sharing about your Mother's Day--I was thinking myself that it must be so hard for those who have lost their mothers. But, like you, I am so thankful for the comfort of knowing that you will see each other again. Your layout is beautiful, by the way! and I think your bathroom cabinets look awesome!
