My name is Christine Newman. I've always loved writing and paper-crafting, ever since I was a little girl. I also love to make lists, thus my website, Fabulous Adventures of Listgirl. :) I've been scrapbooking digitally since April 2006 and I'm known in the forums as either "listgirl" or "supertwinkle". In May 2011 I made my best friend a mini book and that was the start of coming back to paper scrapbooking. The next month I made my husband Todd a "love you" mini book as an anniversary gift. I love scrapbooking because looking back on my memories with the people I love make me so happy and thankful! It’s also such a great artistic outlet for me, combining my favorite hobbies of photography, scrapbooking, computers, internet, and writing. I started designing digital scrapbooking templates and kits in November 2009, when I opened my own little store, Listgirl Designs. (The store is on hiatus right now and links back to my blog.) I've been too busy to design digital scrapbooking products, but it could come back someday. Never say never!
My current creative teams are Lily Bee Design, Write. Click. Scrapbook., One Little Bird, The Digi Dares, and Evalicious. It's a great mix of paper and digital teams! Some of my past creative teams were: The Lilypad, Designs by Lili, Little Dreamer Designs, Kristin Cronin-Barrow, Zoe Pearn, Songbird Avenue, and Queen of Quirk. I've been published in Creating Keepsakes Digital Scrapbooking Magazine (now defunct). I've written articles for Digital Artist Magazine and My Scrapbook Art magazine. In 2012 I was a contributor at My Scrapbook Art, where I wrote quarterly articles about Project Life. (Unfortunately their site crashed and they lost the articles. I will be bringing them back to my own blog soon.) I've also been on The Digi Show podcast several times, discussing various scrapbooking-related topics. You can listen to them here, here, here, and here. I've also been honored to contribute to a book called "Everyday Storyteller", a beautiful and fantastic scrapbooking/ storytelling idea book. The list of contributors is truly amazing and I'm honored to be a part of the book.
Right now I'm also loving my Project Life album. In 2011 I completed two really cool projects. One was dubbed "New 52", a year-long project where I tried something new every week and documented it on my blog. (This personal project was one of the ones featured on Write.Click.Scrapbook. at the beginning of 2011.) The other was a workshop called "30 Days of Lists". I love to think of new projects/ideas to try in the crafting world, and I love to write and share.
My husband and I love to cook good food at home. He is the chef, whereas I am the sometimes-sous-chef and cleaner-upper, and my big contribution seems to be taking photos of the wonderful and delicious food. (And eating the food, obviously.) However, I did make this shrimp dish, and my photo was featured at America's Test Kitchen! I was also featured on their Blogger Spotlight with this Pesto Alla Trapanese dish. :)
I’ve been married to my fantastic husband Todd for 19 years. We have a cat named Noodle, who loves to play and snuggle. I work full-time as a financial analyst for a high-tech company. My job keeps me busy, but I'm very thankful to have a job and to work with great people. We live in sunny San Diego, where we enjoy outdoor activities like running, hiking, and walking on the beach. I'm into running and fitness and I try to exercise 4-5 times a week. In June 2009 I ran the inaugural Seattle Rock-N-Roll Half Marathon (13.1 miles). In June 2010 I ran the San Diego Rock-N-Roll Half Marathon. The only full marathon (26.2 miles) I've ever run was the Honolulu Marathon in 2000. I also love to eat, read, knit/crochet, make cards, stamp, sew, and get my hands into anything crafty. Thank you for stopping by my blog! :)
