Just Do It

Maybe Nike was onto something. In my quest for perfection, sometimes I have a hard time just doing something, if it's not going to be my best. I'm stuck in that mode in my scrapping now. I'm afraid to start a page because I feel like I don't have brilliant ideas, so it's not going to be my best page. It is partly the reason that I am several weeks behind in my Project 365 weekly pages. I should just do it. Because you know what? Creativity is not all about the end result. The process is something to be treasured as well. Please remind me of this next time I have such high expectations from myself again! Today Todd fully moved all our kitchen stuff back into the cabinets and drawers. We've moved in! Photobucket Tomorrow we are having dinner guests over for the first time since the end of the remodeling. I am excited for the grand unveil to my friends. And of course excited to cook some good food and hang out with them. :)

  1. Yippee you have your home back! It has turned out so nice. I hope you and Todd are happy with the results. I know what you mean about getting things done--I think that sometimes we are much to critical of ourselves and that everything has to be absolutely "perfect". When I get those ideas I remind myself of one of my mother's many sayings "Perfect is when you get to heaven."

  2. Funny you are in a rut and I saw an ad that reminds me of you and lately I have been thinking how cool it would be if you made a page like it. I am gonna take a quick look through my mags and see if i can find it. if not i will explain it to you.

  3. i didnt find it right away but i think its here at my house. I have not been anywhere looking at magazines. it was a pic of a girl running from behind and it looked like the camera was on the sidewalk looking up and she just ran by. I think she was a sillouette and there was brush work along the bottom. it seems like a page u would make. I know Todd and you like taking interesting pics. I will keep looking in my mags.

  4. New kitchens are the perfect excuse to entertain...but I've got a million of 'em (excuses to entertain, not kitchens...)

  5. I sometimes have the same creative blocks, and for the same reason. You're very astute to realize it's a process, not the end product, that truly counts.

  6. OK, so I'm not the blog police or anything, but for many, many mornings, I have clicked over to your world to read what's going on. This is day two of not getting my California fix. I'm hoping that you are in the middle of a very busy weekend and that nothing 'not so good' has happened.

I needed to hear the creativity thoughts..I'm so blocked right now with my pages. I think it's because I'm not letting myself work on 'fun stuff' until my school work is done. But...my school work is never done..it's a vicious circle.

    Talk to you soon!

  7. So nice to be able to put things in your cabinets again. A kitchen must be used to feel at home, a fancy kitchen that never sees food is no real kitchen. :)
