Finalizing some choices

Photobucket I'm so lucky that Todd's such a good sport about me taking photos of him. :p We went to Rubios for a late lunch after spending almost three hours with one of the contractors we're considering for our kitchen and bath remodeling. Todd took the day off and I took half a day off just for meetings with two contractors. The meetings were quite productive today and we're getting really close to picking a contractor for the job. We were pretty excited because the design that we liked the most actually DIDN'T cost the most! And they gave us a full sheet of 10-12 references of completed or in-progress remodels so that we can talk to the people about their experiences with this contractor. We also spent a good hour with Jim the appliance guy, who was extremely knowledgeable and helpful to us in narrowing down our choices. I'm probably most excited about the bathroom. We are ripping out the tub and shower, and putting a 9 ft walk-in double shower in that space. I've only used the bathtub in our master bathroom FIVE times at the most since October 2001, so I won't be missing it. I know a lot of girls are bath girls but I'm not one of them. I like to get in and get out of the shower as fast as possible and get on with the rest of my life, LOL. And we'll still have tubs in the other bathrooms in case anyone would want to use one. So, besides working from 5 AM to 10 AM today, my day was pretty much taken up by remodeling related stuff. I won't be back into the office until Tuesday, so I'll have to let you know how the cherry flavoring goes with the soda then! :)

  6. I'm with you on the shower thing, and we almost did the same thing, but we were talked out of it for two reasons. One...resale. Everyone we talked to said we had to have a tub in the master bath. Two...we have a double window over the tub, and the shower would've been right in view of the window. I could've given all the neighbors quite a show!! LOL! We realized that we didn't care about resale, but the window thing was a real problem. In order to keep costs down, and keep light in our bathroom, we put in a small deep tub. The boys have used it more than I have!! And...I love Rubio's!!
