In June…

201206_Jun_MIR_blog

  • I ran 35 miles. So far in 2012 I’ve run 210 miles, so I’m on track with my 366 mile goal for the year.  I try to average a mile a day.
  • On top of running, I walked 11 miles.  All these are fit in during work breaks.
  • I spent 11 hours and 21 minutes exercising.
  • I haven’t been watching my diet very much.  But I didn’t gain any or lose any weight.  Considering all the good food I’ve eaten and vacation in Santa Barbara, I call it a win!
  • We took 928 photos. Biggest photo month so far this year.
  • I read a little bit more of “The Help”, but didn’t really make progress.  I totally need to take the time to read again.
  • TV:  watched season 2 of Sherlock Holmes on PBS and it was fantastic.  The ending was wow!  Can’t wait for next season now. Also started watching True Blood season 5 on HBO, and Bunheads on ABC Family.
  • We went to visit Sally and the babies.
  • Todd went to dinner at Wings N Things with AJ.  Then they went on a “man date” to see Men In Black III!
  • Movies:  Back To The Future II, Star Trek, American Dreamz
  • I ordered a bunch of polo shirts from Aeropostale, in all kinds of summery colors.  I love wearing them to work!
  • I bought my first pair of Converse Chuck Taylors, ever.
  • I finished four more weeks of Project Life in my album.
  • I received the book I contributed to, “Everyday Storyteller”, in the mail.  So excited to hold it in my hands!
  • I spent two whole days totally re-organizing my craft studio. Purged and organized according to how I work.  So happy!
  • Todd made blueberry lemon cupcakes for our two-person watch party for the last episode of season 2 of HBO’s “Game of Thrones”.  So yummy!
  • I had my last day of physical therapy for my right leg IT band soreness.  I need to continue with the strength exercises on my own.
  • Ate a LOT of strawberries.
  • After 18 years, our food processor died.  We bought a new Cuisinart one.
  • Went to the Filipino-American Cultural Festival to see Dejah and Roby.
  • Signed up for Studio Calico’s “Summer Stamp Class”.  So fun!
  • For the first time in months, I ordered some stamps and dies from Papertrey Ink.  My friend Cassi and I combined orders to get free shipping.
  • We had an ice cream social at work to celebrate winning San Diego Magazine’s Top Tech Innovator Award.
  • Todd had two swim sessions canceled at the YMCA due to “fecal incidents”.  Now he is on the fecal email list so that he doesn’t show up at masters swim at 5:30am and have to go home.
  • Todd got his annual bonus at work. We (er, I mean Noodle) bought him a rocker/recliner for Father’s Day so that he can rock his way through the college football season.
  • Went to dinner at Tender Greens and church with Monika.
  • Todd worked at the Toastmasters booth at the San Diego County Fair.
  • I went to my first ever crop.  It was at Ever After and I had more fun than I thought I would.
  • I have additional responsibilities at work that I’m not too excited about.  Such is life.
  • Todd surprised me with a huge anniversary gift:  he bought me a new Alienware computer with a solid state drive.  He even installed all my apps for me in secret.  And he bought me Lightroom 4!  He sure knows my heart!  ♥
  • My gift to Todd was a mini book that I decorated up with lots of Silhouette cut outs and wrote 10 reasons why I love him.
  • We celebrated Summer Solstice with a walk at the lake after work, dinner at Kappa Sushi (where we saw the whole San Diego Chargers defensive line), and shave ice at Wahini Kai.
  • I learned to relax a little bit more.  I’m less productive but have been loving the down time. There’s been nights where I didn’t even turn my computer on!
  • Todd went to his second annual Red Dress Run with the Hash House Harriers.
  • We took a short vacation up to our favorite getaway, Santa Barbara.  Three glorious days of celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary.
  • We met the winner of the 2009 women’s Tour De France, who opened up a coffee shop in Santa Barbara with her husband.
  • I wrote my 3rd quarterly article about Project Life at My Scrapbook Art:  Get Creative With Project Life.

  1. Every month when you write this list, I think it's such a great condensed version of your month, and I wish I had done it. I think intalkntoo much to put it in a list, though. ;)

  5. I have started doing the running a mile a day since I saw that it was your goal.

I used to run 3 miles every other day and then I got burnt out rather quickly. I think a mile a day is a great goal to have. Then I do about 20 minutes of strength training.

I started Project Life after seeing your layouts and I'm really excited for the Core Kits to be available on Amazon so I can actually start scrapping. It has been a month of waiting - can't wait for mid-July. I have your pages as inspiration.

  6. Yes, every month I say that I'm going to do this, and then I never do.
I guess there is no time like now, right? Love the re-cap!

  9. Love this! I do this in my PL album and make a copy of my wall calendar to document the madness of 6 schedules...but can't seem to get it on the blog.

Can't seem to get much of anything on the blog...thinking it might be time to retire the blog. hmmmm..a decision for another day.

You go on the mile a day...so inspiring!

  10. I have to say, your month in review pages make me want to try something like PL, but it's so intimidating.
