One Little Bird | Beach Santa

It’s almost the most wonderful time of the year!  Document Your December 2013 debuted at The Lilypad today.  Just so many awesome digital & printable goodies for digital or hybrid mini albums to document the holidays!

I made a page with my friend Peppermint’s (One Little Bird Designs) new digital holiday kit, Evergreen.  I love the modern look and colors in this kit!

Here’s Evergreen the kit.

AND Evergreen coordinating printable journal cards!

And… a little bird told me (ha!) that if you purchase Evergreen the kit by Nov. 17, 2013, you’ll save 20% PLUS you’ll receive the coordinating journal cards for FREE!  How awesome is that?!  Go get yours!  And while you’re there, check out all the amazing digital and printables for Document Your December as well.  I love it all.  If only I actually did a December album, ha ha.

Have a great weekend, everyone!  ♥

Five on Friday

One:  What could be construed as “Fall” has arrived in San Diego this week.  This past weekend we had temps in the 90’s with the Santa Ana winds.  But a few days later, “fall” arrived.  The leaves on the trees at work have turned colors and are falling.

And last night was the first night since April that we had to pull out the comforter for the bed.  That’s pretty epic.  Temps inside the house went down to 68.

Two:  since it’s finally cooler now, I pulled out the afghan that I’ve been crocheting since… last spring?  (2012)  Time to make some progress again.

Three:  I’m totally thinking about signing up for Urban Craft Camp, run by Ana Spick of We Love Citrus and Jen Byard of My Three Songs Designs.  I had a great time at their String Art Workshop this summer.  The new workshop I want to attend is book binding.  It is 11/9 at Pigment in North Park.

Four:  I am slowly yet surely making progress with my weight-loss goal.  I’m now about 6 lbs from my goal weight.  I started on July 1st, but the last few weeks I haven’t lost as much weight, even though I’m still making small progress.  I’ve started back up with weights and strength training because I want to build more muscles.  Twice in my life in the past, when I’ve lost 10 or more pounds, I had incorporated weight training.  Hopefully it’s the trigger that I need to jump start my weight loss again and get to my goal weight!

Five:  I’m loving One Little Bird’s mobile font Key Notes!  I use the font inside the Phonto or Over app on my iPhone to overlay words over my photos.  (Such as the ones above.)  And this one of Noodle.

There are several different options for purchasing Key Note (png + cut files, ttf font, or both), so please check the One Little Bird blog post and the Lilypad store listing for more info.

Need instructions on how to install any font onto your iOS device so you can use it on photos?  Here’s a handy blog post with instructions at The Lilypad.

Happy Friday!  Have a good weekend everyone!  :-)

Authentic Scrapbooking

Lately I've been thinking about scrapbooking, and how being authentic in our pages leads to freedom and creativity.
Which led to my blog post for The Lilypad this week:  Authenticity in Scrapbooking.  Take a read if you're interested. I think if we put more of our authentic selves into our scrapbooking, we will love the pages we make even more. I find that my most favorite pages of all time are the ones where I look at it after some time has passed, and I love it because it was honest and authentic, and true to myself and the stories I told. :)

Project Life | Hello 2013

PL_banner_600

I’ve been doing Project Life scrapbooking on and off for two years. This will be my 3rd year of scrapbooking my everyday pictures this way, and I’m so excited about it! My renewed enthusiasm is twofold. First, I’ve decided to not do it in a weekly style and just scrap my favorite photos as I go along. Second, how could I not be excited about all the Evalicious tags, flair buttons, and stamps that are SO PERFECT for my Project Life album? :D I’m also excited to use digital supplies from The Lilypad to print out for my album.

My 2-page spread containing more or less the first week of January.

I designed the “hello 2013” myself in Photoshop. The upper right photo is tied to my Hello 2013 blog post.

The 3x4 calendar journal card is Paislee Press 2013 Calendar Journal Cards. The Hello Label Stamp is Evalicious.

I love how Project Life allows me to document little moments like waking up on New Year’s Day and watching the Rose Bowl Parade and ESPN Gameday coverage of the game.

We made some yummy Pasta Alla Trapanese.

I copied and pasted journaling from my “Hello 2013” blog post.

I was so excited when I found the “Eat this” tag in the My Week snipsnip tag sheet. I adhered it right onto the photo.

And really, I had to document the day my box of Evalicious DT goodies showed up at my house! I love how the foldover tags are pre-scored so you can just fold them easily and staple them onto the side of a photo, like I did here.

Dressing up a blank journal card with an Evalicious tag for the title, and a matching flair button. The Faves journal card is a free download from Nettio Designs.

Using a tag on top of a journal card so that the title stands out.

I filled a 4x6 slot with a Silhouette cut out.
