2014 Project Life | April Part 2

20140610-IMG_3486_blog

I finished another 5 pages for April Project Life.  Combined with the first four pages of April, this makes a total of 9 pages.  I did three pages last night because I just wanted to be done with April, lol.

April page 5:  I cleaned up my craft room in preparation for Peppermint’s visit.  We saw “Captain America: Winter Soldier”.  We went to the April “Taste of Terroirs” at Mille Fleurs.  General Noodle cuteness.

This page is all “hybrid” scrapbooking, except for the top left pocket.  By “hybrid”, I mean that I pulled up digital journal cards into Photoshop, typed journaling on them (or copied from my blog), and printed them out.  The journal card with the eating utensils background is from the “Prix Fixe” journal card pack by One Little Bird Designs (Peppermint Granberg).  The “Foodie” card I made, using the “Good Eats Word Art” pack by Digital Design Essentials.  The lower left card with the ball of yarn is from the “Cat Theme Pack” from Digital Project Life.  I made the Captain America card.

In my album I have a 8.5x11 insert with the menu from Taste of Terroirs.

April page 6:  the beginning of Peppermint’s visit, eating at Burger Lounge, and Noodle cuteness.

Except for the right-most 3x4 journal card in the middle section, this entire page was made with stuff that Peppermint designed.  I thought it was fitting to use her stuff since this was about her visit!  However, I was so nervous cutting into those gorgeous papers that she designed for Gossamer Blue, lol.  You can find Peppermint’s digital designs in her One Little Bird store at The Lilypad

This is how I made the above journal card.  Then I stamped on it.

I made the journal card on the right using the stamp set from the April Project Life kit from Studio Calico.

April pages 7 & 8 were an actual spread.  I normally don’t do spreads, but this was all about when Peppermint was here and all the stuff we did, so I decided to make the facing pages matchy-matchy, lol.  I used mostly items from the Maggie Holmes Styleboard collection (Project Life mini kit + the regular scrapbook collection of papers & embellishments).

April page 7:  We went to Nothing Bundt Cakes, we made fish tacos at home, and I finally got to do Project Life together with Peppermint in my craft room!

The left journal card with the stitching border was made using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journal Card die (3x4).

The Cake card is from Elle’s Studio.  I’ve been saving this cake journal card for a few months now and finally got to use it! :)

Really loving the colors of Maggie Holmes Styleboard!

The “Maker” card is a digital 4x6 card in the “Creative Life” pack by Digital Design Essentials that I made smaller, recolored to pink, and printed.

April page 8:  more fun with Peppermint.  We had the best carne asada at El Nopalito, we went to the beach, we had dinner at Amaya.

This spread came together quite easily because I used Project Life cards, 12x12 papers, and embellishments from the same collection.  I’ll definitely be doing that again!

April page 9:  the end of Peppermint’s visit.  Brunch with Kami & Peppermint at Snooze.  Dinner at home with Pearl also joining us.  Lunch at Tender Greens before dropping off Peppermint at the airport.

I especially loved the vellum embellishments from the Styleboard collection.  I added them to a bunch of pockets and they just give it an airy look and they’re not overbearing on the page.

Thanks for stopping by!  I think I’ve project life’ed myself to death doing these April pages.  It may be time to take a break and work on my Maui vacation album!  :)
