2012 Project Life | Week 14

Week 14 of Project Life took me MANY many hours to complete.  I had a couple of extra inserts and lots of cutting with my Silhouette digital cutter.  I definitely don't want to spend this many hours on a regular week of Project Life.  I think that would really just drive me over the edge to quit, LOL.  Also, apologize in advance for some photos being a little blurry.  The sun was already full-on right by my sliding glass door, where I usually take my PL photos.  So I moved to the interior of the house.  And I was in a hurry to get the photos taken before going to work.

Week 14 two-page spread.

Left-side page.  This page was dominated by photos of Todd finishing the Ironman California 70.3.  I used my Silhouette SD digital cutter to cut out many elements of this page.  (The Silhouette SD has been discontinued, but you can get the current version, the Silhouette Cameo.)

Week 14 title slot.  I cut out a label, the "70.3", the arrow, and the star using my Silhouette.  The arrow and star are from Lauren Grier's "Everyday Story Doodles" digital pack.

I used American Crafts POW! Glitter paper for the first time to cut with my Sihouette and I LOVED it!  This glitter paper has glitter embedded into the paper, it's not on top, so even when you cut it, no glitter comes off of it!  Completely clean!  Love this.  I cut this 3x4 shape by  Lori Whitlock because it looks like waves in the ocean, and Todd swam 1.2 miles in the ocean in his triathlon.

Journaled right onto this photo using Photoshop.

More Silhouette cuts.  Used Blackout font to cut "I Rocked Ironman California 70.3!" on the light yellow AC cardstock.  Then put dark blue AC cardstock behind it.  The right side is a is the Ironman logo and also triathlon icons that I found on the internet.  I traced it all in the Silhouette Studio software and cut it out.  The dotted outlines are drawn by the Silhouette using the sketch pens.

I used the print and cut function on the Silhouette to cut out a bunch of labels that Vanessa made.  (She's a total sweetheart and offered them as a free download on her blog. I also wanted to give Vanessa a shout-out because she gave me the Liebster Blog Award.  :)  I don't have time to pass the award on to other bloggers, but I really appreciate the fact that she gave me one!)  Then I adhered them onto this patterned paper and wrote down Todd's Ironman stats.

It was so warm that I opened up my sunroof on my car on the way home from work.  It was glorious!  The stitching is a digital pack called "Three(x4) Stitched Frames" by Amy Martin.  I dragged a bunch of them onto a 8.5x11 canvas in Photoshop and printed them out on kraft cardstock and trimmed them to the 3x4 size.  I used it to sum up some stories this week that I didn't have photos for.  (Sorry about blurry photo.)

I wrote my journaling on a small chevron bag.  It's an experiment.  Not sure I like it, but it's done.

Made a little pocket with cloud and heart washi tape and photo, and stuck the restaurant business card in there.  Put a label on top.  The right side has another digital journal card that I made in Photoshop and printed onto kraft cardstock.

Cute photo of Todd and Noodle.  I made the ticket myself

Digitally journaled onto this photo in Photoshop before I printed it out.

Since it was the end of March, I made another 8.5x11 insert summarizing the month.  This is the front side.  The journaling is copied from my "In March..." blog post.  You can see the process of how I made my Month-In-Review inserts here.

I have another 8.5x11 insert containing Todd's Ironman race number and bracelet.  The back has a map of his race route.

I created a 6x12 insert detailing Todd's Ironman race story, because it's such an awesome achievement that  I wanted to document it fully.  I copied the text from his blog post.  This is the front.

The back has a 4x6 photo collage and more story.  You can see a detailed tutorial of how I do a 6x12 insert like this, printing onto 8.5x11 paper first

That's it for Week 14. I'm exhausted!  I didn't link up to every product I used, so if you have any questions feel free to comment in this post and I'll answer them.
