2012 Project Life | Week 13

It’s hard to believe, but 2012 is a quarter of the way over already!  I’m still keeping up with Project Life, although I don’t want it to take up as much time in my week as it had before.  This week I tried to keep it more simple by using more of the journal cards that came with the Clementine Core Kit.  I used the tickets I made and cut with my Silhouette, the same two sets of stamps, washi tape, and tiny tags to decorate up my page.  Happy to report that this week only took me 3 hours to complete, over the course of Monday and Tuesday nights after work.  Michelle Wooderson has her Project Life post up, where she also cut down on the time she spent on it.  Her pages are still way more scrappy than mine, but I think I’m a slow scrapper in general, LOL.  Also, Elise Blaha said in her Project Life post:  “I think it's because I really don't go over the top with embellishments and details. This is not a scrapbook page that stands alone. This is an album that comes together to share what our life looks like. And again, the whole is much greater than the sum of it's parts. It's going to take exactly how much time you allow it to take.”  Amen to that!  I think the key to me is sustainability.  I would much rather keep it simple in some weeks and get it done, than spending too much time on it each week and burning out and never completing the album.

For the week's title page, I cut out the "13" with my Silhouette SD and used washi tape to adhere to the shipping tag.  (The Silhouette SD is discontinued.  The current model is the Silhouette Cameo.)  I drew white stitches on the outside with my Uniball Signo white pen, and drew a black outline on the inside.  Used some AC Amy Tangerine Goodness Thickers letters for "WEEK".

We watched our Buckeyes beat Syracuse to get into the 2012 NCAA Final Four.  I googled for a higher-resolution logo of the 2012 Final Four, and printed it out onto matte photo paper, cut it out, and adhered it to my kraft paper.  The photo is so cute because Noodle just decided to get up on the couch and squeeze in right next to Todd.  :)

The journal card on the right is from the Project Life Clementine Core kit.  I decorated it with aqua and white Airmail washi tape and those tickets that I designed and cut out with my Silhouette

We saw three movies this week, which is a LOT for us, LOL.  One of them was "Moneyball", which we both really enjoyed.  I created these 4x6 journal cards in Photoshop.

We also saw "The Hunger Games" in the theater.  Enjoyed it, but I think the book was better and more detailed.

Right-side.  I used a lot of kraft paper this week and I think I love it.

We made a new dish called "Chicken and Sausage Stew" from Cooking Light magazine.  It was so delicious!  I incorporated little white die-cut tags onto my photos this week.

I used Papertrey Ink's Tiny Tags die, and I just run it through my Sizzix Big Shot and out comes all these cute little tags.  I love them.

Two more journal cards from the Project Life Clementine Core kit.  On the left I stamped "good times" and put a piece of black, gray, and white chevron washi tape on there.  On the right, I stamped "REAL LIFE' on kraft paper and cut out a banner.

The left is a Project Life 3x4 grid journal card that I decorated with a tab and some heart and cloud washi tape from Freckled Fawn.  On the right I used one of my tickets and stamped "EPIC!" on there and just put some washi tape on the bottom.

We also saw "The Muppets" this week.  See, lots of movie-watching!  I forgot to leave room on my Hunger Games journal card to staple the tickets, so I put them here.  The background paper is Gossamer kraft paper from American Crafts Hello Sunshine collection.  It is one of my favorite papers of all time.

That's it for Week 13!  Just wanted to share a snippet of my process/ work flow.

I got this clear plastic container from Amazon and it is divided into several different sized compartments.  The SMASH pads and all the 3x4 journal cards fit into each compartment, plus there are other longer/bigger compartments for 4x6 journal cards, stickers, stamp sets, etc.  I keep it all on my craft table so that the supplies are right there for me to work on Project Life.  The container/tray is made of thin plastic and isn't the most sturdy, but it works fine for me.
