2014 Project Life | June Part 3

20140802-IMG_3983_CLN

I’m finally done with June Project Life!  It turned out to be 10 pages.  It would have been eight pages without the special double-sided anniversary page.  I shared the first few pages of June here, now here are the rest!

June page 5:  We went to Cucina Urbana for dinner before seeing a musical at Old Globe Theater; my thoughts on working out; Noodle cuteness.

20140802-IMG_3980_CLN

This page was done using One Little Bird’s “One For The Album” digital journal cards.  I typed on them in Photoshop first, then I printed them out.  After printing, I added some stamping with Ali Edwards’ stamps, and added some embellishments.

Details:

I used the “4x6 Photo Collages No. 4” templates by Lili Niclass to make collages again.  Because I love it so much!

June page 6:  crafting with letterpress, diecut letters, and cork; Todd’s cycling training for the trithlon; Todd made yummy chicken udon soup; going out to eat; movie “Rush”.

20140802-IMG_3992_CLN

I used mostly an old Studio Calico collection called “Atlantic”.  The bicycle circle is from my “Summer Circles” printable sheet.  The camera with “Captured” is one of the cards that I letterpressed

June page 7:  going to Coop’s BBQ for the first time, and then the Poncho Sanchez concert afterwards; Todd’s dodgeball team; our very fun Summer Solstice, first day of summer.

20140805-IMG_4025_CLN

For this page I used Pink Paislee’s “Solstice” collection.  Because duh, it’s called “Solstice” and it’s an awesome summery collection.

I used the Lili Niclass “4x6 Photo Collages No. 4” templates again.

20140805-IMG_4027_CLN

This template might be my favorite of all time.  I was able to fit 10 photos onto a 4x6, and it looks so cool and unique!

June page 8:  a page made up of some orphan photos from June, screenshots, and text msgs.  This is the very last page of my full album.  July I’ll start a new album!

20140805-IMG_4035_CLN

I used mostly items from Crate Paper’s “Notes & Things” collection.

That’s it for June Project Life!  Guess what?  This is further than I’ve ever gotten in a year of Project Life.  I did 48 pages documenting six months.  Last year I only did 17 pages and I skipped around.  In 2012 I did 25 weeks (I never did finish the last week of June that year, lol) of 2-page spreads, plus a title page.  So 51 pages in total.  In 2011 I started Project Life in April, did 13 weeks, and quit at the end of August.  I really love my monthly process this year and plan on continuing.  Could this be the year I do a whole year of Project Life?  We’ll see!

2014 Project Life | June Part 2

20140801-IMG_3938_CLN

Since we were on a road trip for a week in July, I didn’t get a chance to play with my June Project Life pages until towards the end of July.  I think I can get the rest of my pages done this weekend though, since I’m only got 3 more pages to go.  The first page from June that I shared was a special anniversary insert.  Here are a few more pages.

June page 1:  lots of everyday life type of stuff.

20140801-IMG_3934_CLN

I used mostly items from the Studio Calico June Project Life kit Hello Hello.  The “It’s A Cat Thing” is a journal card from the Simple Stories 3x4 Cat journal card pack.  It’s super-cute!

I had lunch with my good friend Meera.  Such a treat!  I stamped the Ali Edwards stamp three times on that journal card in different colors.

20140801-IMG_3940_CLN

More stamping on that camera graphic on the right.  “Hello today”.

20140801-IMG_3941_CLN

One thing I did want to note is that I had to take everything out of the pockets and put them into a new Design F page protector, because the pocket on the end ripped.  :(

20140729-2014-07-29 07.31.33_blog

This is the 7th Becky Higgins page protector that has ripped on me this year!  I have to say, I’m not too impressed with the quality of these page protectors.  They really should have put a seam on the right end so that the pockets don’t rip like this.  What I usually do is just cut off the entire right column and then use what’s left of the protector as potential inserts for when I have special occasions.  I haven’t said anything about it this year, but now that seven of my protectors have ripped, I’m starting to feel like this is a manufacturing or design defect!  :(

June page 2:  I went to jury duty, Todd watching the NBA Finals, Todd finishing another puzzle, I started doing the 30 Day Shred dvd workouts again, and going to see X-Men Days of Future Past movie.

20140801-IMG_3944_CLN

I used journal cards I designed myself, Studio Calico, PL Kiwi Edition, and a Silhouette cut.

June page 3:  going to Salt & Cleaver for dinner, running at the beach and having breakfast afterwards, Noodle looking like Batman, workout out with weights, summer love.

20140801-IMG_3950_CLN

I used 4x6 photo templates by my friend Lili Niclass again.  I just LOVE these!  Other supplies are mostly Studio Calico, with some diecuts & veneer from Elle’s Studio.

June page 4:  another special page dedicated to our anniversary dinner #2 at Amaya.  I included the 6x8 menu by cutting it in half and putting them into two pockets in Design C page protector.

20140801-IMG_3961_CLN

Used mostly the Market Street Ashbury Heights collection from My Mind’s Eye.

Something cool I did for this page was including a QR code in a vellum pocket.  When I scan the QR code with my phone, it opens up my blog post about this dinner so I can read more about it!

If you don’t know how to do this, here’s a tutorial from Paislee Press

One For The Album

20140802-2014-08-02 10.30.21_blog

How many times during the week do you look at your small & big moments, your photos, and your memorabilia and say, “This is definitely going into my Project Life album”?  I do it a lot.  That’s why I’m in love with my friend Peppermint’s (aka One Little Bird) new set of journaling cards called “One For The Album”.

And it’s still on sale today (Sunday) for 20% off, so grab them now!

I worked on my June Project Life pages this weekend A LOT.  I’ve got 9 pages done and only one more to go.  (I’m waiting on product for it.)

20140802-2014-08-02 13.41.54-1_blog

I’ll have a Project Life post tomorrow and another one later this week once I finish the last page for June.  Here’s a sneak peek of the page using the above journal cards by One Little Bird.

20140802-IMG_3989_blog

I REALLY love hybrid (digital printed onto paper) scrapbooking because it’s so easy, versatile, and I can type journaling straight onto the journal cards and then print them out.  But if you are digi-afraid, do not worry!  All of One Little Bird’s journal cards come in printable PDF sheets too.

What else happened this week?

I made a thank you card for our catsitter, from Noodle of course.

Todd bought his own standing/sitdown height-adjustable desk and brought it to work.  Now he can work standing up or sitting down, with the touch of two levers.  It is a Vari Desk.  He loves it!

20140801-2014-08-01 15.49.31_blog

I got a haircut on Friday.  My last haircut was in February, so it was really time.  My hair was so long and heavy!  I got 3 inches cut off, plus lots of layers put in.

20140801_haircut_600

We made a new roasted root veggie dish from America’s Test Kitchen.  It was fantastic.  I’d imagine this would be even better in the winter!

20140728-2014-07-28 18.38.02_blog

Yesterday we went to dinner at En Fuego

20140802-2014-08-02 17.49.04_blog

Todd got ranchero steak with tomatillo sauce.  I got shrimp mole enchiladas.  Yum!

20140802-2014-08-02 17.31.56_blog

After that we went to the Americas Finest City Film Fest at Qualcomm.

20140802-2014-08-02 18.30.27_blog

Qualcomm is one of the biggest employers in San Diego.  It is a semiconductor company that designs and markets wireless telecommunications products and services.  If you have a cell phone then part of that technology was probably invented by Qualcomm.  The company is the leading patent holder in advanced 3G mobile technologies.

Wall of patents at Qualcomm.

The film festival itself was very cool.  It showcased 20 film shorts about San Diego.  There were so many that we loved!  One of the ones I loved was about the Los Chupacabras Moped Club.  And this one about chalkboard artist Peter Han called Pardon My Dust was awesome!
