Update: winner of the giveaway is announced here!
My creative life got really busy the last couple of months. I was doing a lot of scrapbooking, but not Project Life. I was a little sad that I hadn’t gotten around to doing Project Life because I missed it a lot. So after this round of making projects for my creative teams, I set aside some time to do Project Life. I have to admit that it was joyous and delightful to get back to Project Life. I decided just to pick up with Week 13 and do it. I’m not sticking with a weekly Project Life per se, but I wanted to pick up with current photos and get it done so I can have a quick win and feel motivated! :) On Sunday night I picked out photos and printed them out, and I did a couple of journaling cards. Then Monday night I was able to finish it up. It didn’t feel like I spent a ton of time on this spread. I think spreading it out over two nights was a good idea for me.
Here’s the two page spread.
Left page.
I documented the baby quilt-square making party, and our day off and going to lunch at Ortega’s.
I created this journal card using one of the 3x4 grid journal cards from Studio Calico. I added some blue grid washi tape, and then a circle die cut from Evalicious. Then I added a light blue enamel dot from My Mind’s Eye to the center of the camera graphic.
It seemed like my photos on this page were blue, orange, and yellow, so I decided to stick with that color scheme. I used a 3x4 filler design card from the Jade Edition of Project Life that I purchased during the special sale at HSN. My friend Lili Niclass designed it. I must say, I love this kit so much. It has so much variety and all the designs are my colors and right up my alley! I added some yellow airmail washi tape, and stamped an Evalicious typewriter stamp on white cardstock and cut it out and adhered it on top of the washi tape. Makes for a cute journal card! :)
For this spread, I took my photos into Photoshop and did a lot of journaling and dating right on the photo before printing them out. I really like the look of that, so I think I’ll continue doing it.
Right side.
For this side I documented my breakfast date with Meera, the exciting arrival of the Jade Edition of Project Life, running in a new pair of shoes, a froyo date, TV shows we’re watching, and my first projects I made for the Lily Bee design team.
I cut up a heart doily and layered it underneath the photo. For this week, I printed out several photos “polaroid” style, so I could write on the bottom part. I stamped the date on the photo with Staz-On ink, because the glossy photo surface was slick. For the same reason, I wrote on the photo using the AC Slick Writer.
This 4x6 journal card is from the Jade Edition of Project Life. I thought it was appropriate to use it to document the arrival of the kit. :) I added the orange enamel dot and that was it.
For the next set of photos, I journaled on them first in Photoshop, then printed them out “polaroid” style. I really like it!
For this 4x6 slot I used patterned paper and my Silhouette digital cutter to cut out the shape of a TV. Some letter stickers and enamel dots round off the TV embellishment. I think I’m in love with enamel dots, can you tell?
That’s it for this week’s Project Life! Now the exciting part…
GIVEAWAY!
I’m giving away this set of Project Life journal cards by Studio Calico. I purchased a couple of their Project Life grab bags a couple of weeks ago, and all these cards were duplicates that I received. I decided to give them away on my blog!
But wait! That’s not all! I also have some extra journal cards from the Clementine Edition of Project Life (also designed by Lili Niclass). So I’m throwing these into the giveaway as well.
And that’s still not all! All the journal cards above will be sent in this Studio Calico Project Life box, along with this American Crafts Love roller date stamp!
The AC Love roller date stamp was sold in US Target stores earlier in the year. I went to two Target stores and they were sold out at both stores. I asked my husband Todd to stop by a third Target on his way home, and he found some there! He bought two for me so I could give one away on my blog. He’s so sweet! ♥
Leave a comment in this post for a chance to win this Project Life journal card + date stamp package. I’m not limiting this giveaway, so internationals are welcome to enter! Yay! For a second entry, you can follow my blog via Google Friend Connect on the left sidebar of my blog. Then post a separate comment that you’ve done so. (If you already follow my blog via Google Friend Connect, you can still make a separate comment and just tell me you’ve already followed.) Giveaway contest ends on Sunday night April 7th 9pm United States Pacific Daylight Savings time. I will close the comments then and draw a random winner. (Please make sure you check back to see if you’ve won. If I don’t hear back from the winner for a week, I will draw another winner.) Good luck!
And while you are clicking over to enter, I’ll point out a couple of recent changes to the blog. If you hover your mouse over a photo, you will see a turquoise blue round Pinterest button. If you click on the button, you can pin that photo directly to your Pinterest account, with the blog post link as the default link of the pin. I think that makes it very convenient for you to pin any images you see on my blog. Also, I’ve changed the blog post text font on my site. It’s called “PT Sans Narrow” and I really like it. If you always read my blog in a RSS reader, then you won’t notice it. But if you read my blog at my actual site, then you probably have noticed the font change.
