Hi Everyone!  I’m up on the Evalicious blog today with a layout.  I always love creating with Evalicious goodies, so I’m very excited to share my first “back to the Evalicious DT” project with you!  :-)

On Thanksgiving Day, we got to go to the beach because it was an unusually warm day at 82F degrees.  We decided to take some impromptu photos with the photobooth app on my iPhone.



I added some acrylic paint along the borders of my paper strips and photo mat to add some interest.  I love how the puffy sticker, badge buttons, tags, and stamps create some varied textures surrounding my photo.





The wood veneers (new!) also add some cool texture to the page.  I added some journaling with a Uniball Signo white pen and drew some hearts surrounding my journaling.  It is most definitely my favorite write pen to write with!

Paper Issues Link Party | What The #@!$%&

The new Paper Issues Link Party is up on the Paper Issues blog today!  This issue is all about punctuation and it’s sponsored by Feed Your Craft.  Elise of Feed Your Craft sent us some flair badges to use on our punctuation layout and they are so cute!  I decided to do a comic-book style layout about a conversation that Todd & I had a few years ago about what we thought of each other when we first met in college.

I used mostly items from the Amy Tangerine Stitched collection, along with some wood veneers and sequins.  I also used watercolors and Mama Elephant’s Midnight Letters alphabet stamps. 

I typed out the speech bubbles in Photoshop and printed them and cut them.

I think my favorite thing about this layout is the title.  I used a combination of the Amy Tangerine After Glow Alpha Thickers and Today Foam Word Thickers, along with the stamping.  I also used the Accent & Phrase Transparent Stickers and Enamel Dots. 

Splashes of paint & matching sequins completely my layout.

Gramercy Road | Scrapbook Together

I’m on the One Little Bird blog today with a 2-page layout using the beautiful Gramercy Road collection that Peppermint designed for Gossamer Blue!  Believe it or not, this is actually my first 8.5x11 2-pager.  I've always wanted to do 8.5x11 pages because it's awesome for printing journaling and digital elements on the background.  I finally got to do it and I'm thrilled with how it turned out!

Yes, this is a two-page scrapbook layout about earlier this year when Peppermint came to visit me in San Diego and we finally got to scrapbook together!  This was the sixth time we have seen each other, but we’ve never actually scrapbooked together before.  If you’ve listened to The Digi Show in the past, you have probably heard the story of how Peppermint & I met online in digital scrapbooking forums in 2008.  We’ve been friends ever since.  When I was thinking about my next project using Gramercy Road, I thought it was fitting that I use a collection that Peppermint designed to document the story of our first time scrapbooking together.

Gramercy Road has beautiful A and B side papers.  I used the B-side of Cedar Creek paper as the background for the left side of my page.  I also love all the tags in the collection and love to use them for layering on my pages.  Another favorite of mine are the die cut ephemera pack.  I love all the little bits in there for layering around my photo.

Every time I make a layout with Gramercy Road, I have to use the rose foil alphabet stickers.  They are so shiny and beautiful, it’s hard to resist!  For both of my pages, I put the alphabet stickers on vellum first, then I sewed the whole piece down onto the page with my sewing machine.

I used one of the skinny labels to tie my two pages together.  I added a date stamp, a punched out star, a camera from the die cut ephemera pack, and an enamel dot to pretty up the label.

I typed up my journaling in Photoshop, then I printed it out onto my white cardstock background for the right-side page.  This is definitely an advantage of making 8.5×11 pages, since I don’t have a wide-format printer that can print on 12×12 cardstock.

I kept it simple on the right side so that the focus is on the photo.  I stapled the “I love this one” word strip to the photo, and adhered the “Yes Please” circle to the top of the photo with foam adhesive so it’s popped up.  They are both from the die cut ephemera pack.

I can tell you that after making two 12×12 pages and two 8.5×11 pages with Gramercy Road, I love it more than ever.  I love creating with the collection!  It is so versatile and everything works so beautifully together.

Paper Issues | Project Life Wedding Spread

I am up on the Paper Issues blog today, sharing a Project Life spread I made for Todd’s sister Amy’s wedding back in October!  Here’s a look at both pages together.

In October we went to Oregon to attend Amy’s wedding. It was really beautiful and we caught a lot of great photos. I decided to use Crate Paper Maggie Holmes’ Open Book collection for my wedding 2-page spread. The black, gold, and rose colors go perfectly with a fall wedding!  Here is the left-hand page.

 

My title spread across both pages. On the left page I used a gold doily as a backdrop for the bride and groom’s names.  I used a vellum circle from the Open Book Vellum Ephemera Diecut pack in the middle of the doily to draw attention to the title.

I typed up journaling and cut them into strips.  I made a journal card using a tag from Open Book Layered Tags and a vellum rose.

I cut apart the gold doily and spread it around the page in different pockets.

For the right-hand page, I created the title using the awesome Gold Foil Dots 12x12 paper, vellum diecuts, and Gold Label Maker Stickers. 

The black & gold went so well with the wedding theme and richness of the northwest fall splendor.

I used a pink journal card with a gold foiled heart from the Ephemera Diecut pack to adhere my strips of journaling. 

This photo with the yellow flower was too cute to not include.  I fussy-cut the flowers out of the Years 12x12 paper and it matched the photo perfectly!

For me, Project Life or pocket scrapping doesn’t have to be in a weekly format.  It is perfect for those special events with lots of photos and journaling to document!  This year I’ve been doing monthly Project Life, but this special wedding called for a spread by itself.
