2012 Project Life | Week 10

Still loving Project Life, even though I do wish I could complete my weekly pages faster!
This week could be characterized as "All Paper, All The Time".  Except printed journaling on vellum paper, everything I did this week was done using my paper scrapbooking supplies in my craft studio.  Other than the photo collages and processing and printing out photos, that is.  I still used the computer for that.  It felt different and awesome to just work on this in my craft studio.

Left-side page.  This side centered around our Food Club meeting at Muzita Abyssinian Bistro, our first time eating Ethiopian food.

Almost all the background papers this week came from Studio Calico's Autumn Press 6x6 paper pad, including this awesome peach patterned paper.  I cut up an 8" paper doily and adhered in the left upper corner.  Then I used my Fiskars Jenni Bowlin Tab Punch to punch out the white tab and wrote "WEEK" on it.  Then I used my number "10" that I cut out with my Silhouette SD and adhered the number, slightly overlapping the tab.  Then I used my Signo white pen to draw the white stitches and my Sarasa brown pen to draw in the brown stitches.  The orange label is a Martha Stewart Avery File Label.

I kind of love the photo collage of the food at Muzita Abyssinian Bistro.  Only because the lighting was terrible at the restaurant, yet I got some wonderful photos of the food.

Handwritten journaling summarizing the week, using an Elle's Studio tag.  To the right of that is a Hambly overlay in brown woodgrain that I cut into 3x4 to fit into the pocket.

Journaling about the Ethiopian food experience.  I cut two pieces of 3x4 paper out of a piece of 12x12 pattern paper.  Then I printed my journaling onto a piece of vellum paper cut to 4x6.  Then I cut it in half and layered it over my pattern paper.  I used my Fiskars Scalloped Edge Punch to punch a strip of red cardstock and cut it in half and layered the strips over the vellum.  Then I punched some starburst circles out and stapled those onto the assembled journal cards and wrote on them.  I like how it turned out!  The pattern is subtle enough that the journaling on vellum is still legible.

Right-side page.  We cooked a lot of good food this week.  Todd brought some homemade soup over to our friend Yaiza's house, she has a new baby.  I got my March Studio Calico kit, Story Hour, in the mail.  And we went to Santouka for my favorite real Japanese ramen noodles.

This 4x4 photo was processed using Pixlr-o-matic, and then printed on 4x6 photo paper and trimmed.  Then I wrote on it using an American Crafts Slick Writer in black.  I cut a piece of 6x6 patterned paper into 4x6, then I punched the right edge with Martha Stewart Doily Lace Edger Punch.  It took about half an inch off of the 4x6 paper, but I love how it looks!  The "I Love This Photo" stamp is from the Studio Calico Epic Stamp Set.  Unfortunately it was limited edition and has sold out.  I grabbed it as soon as they announced the last batch for sale, LOL.

The left side journaling is vellum layered over patterned paper, and I used the AC Slick Writer pen to journal on top of the vellum.

On this journal card I layered an edge-punched patterned paper over a light yellow AC cardstock.  Then I stamped some big labels using my Jenni Bowlin label stamps.  I cut the labels out and stapled them onto the journal card.  Then I date stamped them and journaled on them.

For something different, I used my Signo white pen to journal on brown paper.

Some journaling on vellum again.  And some AC Amy Tangerine orange chevron Mixtape

Had a lot of fun working on my Project Life pages this week!  I can't believe it's been 10 weeks and I'm still hanging in there, LOL.  If you are also, good for you!  Would love to see your album if you'd link it up in the comments.

Oh, I want to point out that in this new annoying Blogger comment capcha, you only need to type in ONE of the two words for it to work.  No need to type in both!  I googled around and found that out.  So make life easier for yourself, LOL.
